British Engines Group company, BEL Valves, offers design, manufacture, testing and aftermarket care for high integrity valves and actuators to critical offshore and onshore projects, within the oil and gas, power and renewables sectors.

As a Design Engineer you will design and develop BEL Valves’ products in accordance with national and international design standards, in conjunction with BEL Valves’ and customer’s specifications.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Design and develop BEL Valves products in accordance with design standards.
  • Review assigned requests and identify technical requirements for quotation packages and customer specifications.
  • Attend bid clarification meetings to agree technical requirements.
  • Ensure that service levels meet the expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • Actively liaise with customer representatives on site visits.
  • Compile technical documents and information as required by requests for quotations and forward to the sales department for inclusion in bid.
  • Efficiently deal with customer enquiries; including the presentation of drawings, specifications, procedures and manuals.
  • Ensure that all information required by operations is provided on time and to agreed standards, to ensure company deadlines are met in production.
  • Establish and provide project completion dates.
  • Provide regular information on work progress to the project team, and ensure that any issues and updates are communicated as and when required.

 

Who we’re looking for

 

You must have an awareness of the requirements of various standards such as ISO 9000 and industry standards as given by ASME, ANSI, API and you should have experience of working in a similar role within a design team.

We ask that you have a positive, innovative and motivated approach to your work combined with an ability to work under pressure within time constraints.

This position will be on a full time, permanent basis on 35 hours per week.
