In December 2023, employees from across the British Engines Group came together to donate food, toys and over £2,000 to local food banks.
As part of Christmas Jumper Day, employees were asked to bring in donations to support Newcastle West End Foodbank in Benwell, Cramlington Foodbank in Northumberland and Angel Trust in Durham.
Over 394kg of food was generously donated by our employees, enough to feed over 136 people. A number of boxes filled with toiletries, pet food and Christmas gifts were also donated, along with a further £2,066.84.
Clair McGregor, CEO at Angel Trust, said: “We have seen a huge influx in members of our community accessing our food bank. Without support from companies like yours we couldn’t open our doors. We are really grateful to every member of your team that donated food.
“We helped on average 25 people a day throughout the festive period, with many of your donations helping these families through the Christmas period.”
