British Engines has announced a significant enhancement to maternity pay, furthering its commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace environment and working to attract more women into engineering.
The enhanced maternity pay package is designed to provide greater financial security and flexibility for expectant mothers and their families during this important stage in their lives.
Employees at the British Engines Group will now receive full pay for the first 16 weeks, 75% pay for the following six weeks and 50% pay for the next 12 weeks. Under current law, employers must pay employees on maternity leave a weekly rate equal to 90% of their average weekly earnings for six weeks.
“Our improved maternity policy is just one of the many steps we are taking to create a welcoming and supportive environment for female engineers.”
