British Engines Apprentices Awarded at TDR Training

Three British Engines apprentices have been awarded ‘Apprentice of the Rotation’ at training facility, TDR Training.

Before coming to work at the British Engines Group facilities, September 2022’s intake of apprentices are completing 12 weeks at TDR Training. Through focused training, the apprentices develop experience and whilst building their confidence to set off on their engineering journey.

After the initial five week rotation, the TDR learning and development tutors chose the apprentices who have shown motivation, discipline, innovation and all together made an impression.

Lauren Robinson from Rotary Power, was selected as ‘Milling Apprentice of the Rotation’ by her tutor for throwing herself into the course, being motivated, innovative and determined to impress. Tutor, Peter Bennett at TDR, said: “Lauren was motivated during her milling section with me. She showed initiative, was always on time and always asked if she was unsure. Lauren certainly wasn’t intimidated due to her being one of the only girls on her section!”

Cameron Patel from Michell Bearings also impressed his tutor and was selected as ‘Mechanical Apprentice of the Rotation’, a great achievement and huge stepping stone to keep building on. Tutor, Mark Hildrew at TDR, said: “Cameron is a really hard-working individual, he listens well to instructions and always produces a good standard of work.”

Johna Radravu from BEL Engineering, received ‘Apprentice of the Rotation for the Turning Section’. Throughout the course Johna always looks to improve and learn as much as possible. His tutor for learning and development, Connor Darnell, said: “Johna always turns up and is motivated to work and improve. He has initiative, he asks questions and even asked if there were any extra courses that he could attend! Johna has shown the most improvement within the section.”

Well done to all of our new apprentices across the British Engines Group. We are looking forward to the apprentices joining the businesses soon.
