As Project Coordinator you will review, manage, and submit all required documentation relating to project orders placed as a result of a quotation or framework agreement. The role ensures all special customer and project requirements are clearly identified and subsequently provided.

 

You will also be responsible for recording and reporting on the progress of project orders against agreed milestones.

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all Company standard products, including prevailing standards and specifications
  • Maintain awareness of leading cable manufacturers, recognised industry cable terminology, and the relevant standards
  • Develop a basic understanding of hazardous area protection methods for electrical apparatus, including ability to recognise relevant standards, specifications, and codes of practice, particularly cable glands, to communicate with customers
  • Develop competence in the use of the business system (IFS), to provide quick and accurate information at the first point of enquiry
  • Check incoming project orders, in line with the standard contract review procedure detailed in the quality manual
  • Review project order requirements and complete a detailed handover cover document to ensure orders are raised on the system and all specified conditions are fulfilled, including customer line referencing and packing instructions
  • Create, monitor, and update documents throughout the lifecycle of a project order, from order receipt through to manufacture and completion of documentation.
  • Submit documentation in line with customer timescales, ensuring full compliance with revision control requirements and prepare documentation for final data book compilation
  • Notify inspection and quality departments of third party inspections, including preparing and printing documentation and supporting third party inspectors
  • Assist with the shipment of goods, including preparation of shipping documentation and liaison with the export shipping team
  • Create invoice packages to support overseas offices and the finance department to monitor and secure payment
  • Provide technical and commercial support to suppliers, internal and external customers, overseas offices and export agents
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure key processes are controlled and support continuous improvement initiatives

 

Who we're looking for

 

To apply, you will have experience in a project coordination, document control, or technical administrative role, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment. You will be able to manage project documentation accurately, ensuring compliance with customer, contractual, and quality requirements.

You will have strong communication skills, be well organised, and able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. A proactive approach, good attention to detail, and effective time management skills are essential.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, with experience of ERP systems, document control, or technical documentation considered advantageous. The role is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week. CMP offers a 9 day fortnight working arrangement, enabling employees to work compressed hours and take alternate Fridays off, supporting a healthy work–life balance.
