The role

 

As a Valve Technician, you will be responsible for fitting, assembly, test set-up and testing of finished goods to meet production and customer requirements. This role may have a requirement to deliver customer support onsite and/or offshore subject to holding relevant certification.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Fit and assemble components and finished goods in line with the project requirements and documentation
  • Set up valves for test and carry out testing in line with project procedures
  • Ensure business procedures and quality standards are followed during assembly and test activities e.g. the creation of cast sheets
  • Assist in fault finding activities
  • Complete work within single, small batch or a series of components and finished product processes
  • Interpret engineering drawings; ensure dimensional accuracy using both imperial and metric measures
  • Engage with quality improvement techniques and initiatives
  • Use computer systems accurately to ensure effective recording of work activities
  • Support the training of apprentices and trainees
  • Assist in the workload of other departments within operations to ensure smooth flow of product
  • Participate in personnel development ensuring the performance management and development process (PMD) is well supported
  • Build and maintain positive professional relationships with customers and their representatives
  • Be the first point of contact for field product issues and liaise closely with the client or the client’s representatives when attending their facility

 

Who we are looking for

 

To apply, we are looking for someone who is a time served apprentice with a  minimum of one years’ experience in a similar role within an engineering/manufacturing organisation.

Working hours will be 37 per week.
