The role
As an Industrial Paint Shop Apprentice, you'll develop hands-on skills and experience to be able to paint complex, high value, components or assemblies using a variety of machines, equipment and paint application systems. The Paint Shop apprentice role involves learning and assisting in the selection, preparation, application and repair of industrial coatings. The apprenticeship will include shadowing of experienced technicians in all areas of the paint shop, this being within the blast chamber, conducting inspections, carrying out application of protective coating systems, learning about valve components and assisting in daily maintenance activities to identify any concerns, following all safety protocols. This role aims to develop technical skills, understanding of specific coating systems, and familiarity with industry standards through hands-on training. Take the first step towards building your career while gaining hands-on experience and getting paid as you work towards your qualifications. You will study with South Tyneside Marine School, completing a portfolio of evidence to prove their competence to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. Training will be completed with a training provider who will monitor training and development within a formal apprenticeship standard. At the start of your apprenticeship, you'll spend the first 15 weeks at South Tyneside Marine School.
