We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Controls & Commissioning Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to begin their career in industrial automation, control systems and commissioning within a supportive and forward thinking environment.

You will work alongside experienced engineers on the design, development, testing and commissioning of control systems for a wide range of engineered products and projects. The role offers structured development, hands on experience and exposure to real world industrial applications from day one. This position is ideal for a graduate who is passionate about automation, problem solving and seeing projects through from concept to commissioning.

What you'll be doing

Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will:

  • Assist in the design and development of control systems for engineered products and systems
  • Support PLC and HMI programming activities
  • Contribute to electrical schematic design and panel design activities
  • Participate in system testing, fault finding and validation activities
  • Assist with on site commissioning and customer support activities (where required)
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation, test procedures and reports
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical, electrical and project engineering teams
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety, quality and company standards
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge and practical skills

Who we're looking for

To apply, you should hold a BEng or MEng (or equivalent) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a closely related discipline. You will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a genuine interest in industrial automation and control systems. A willingness to travel for site commissioning activities, where required, is essential.

You will bring a positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team. Self-motivated and eager to learn, you will show initiative and a desire to take ownership of your development while contributing to project delivery.

Ideally, you will have knowledge of PLC programming (such as Omron, Siemens or similar platforms), an understanding of industrial communication protocols, and experience working with electrical schematics using software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN. A final-year project focused on automation, robotics or control systems, or previous internship or placement experience within an engineering environment, would also be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early career engineer seeking structured mentoring from experienced professionals, exposure to live projects across design and commissioning phases, and the opportunity to gain valuable on-site commissioning experience. Ongoing technical training and development will be provided, along with support towards professional registration (IEng or CEng), where appropriate.
