The role

 

We are currently looking for a Senior Maintenance Engineer who will join our business in Simonside, South Shields to support both our Rotary Power and Michell Bearings businesses.

 

As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for driving equipment availability improvements on all machines across both sites This will involve carrying out root cause analysis of repetitive breakdowns and on major breakdowns as well as developing and optimising preventive maintenance schedules.

 

What you’ll be doing

               

  • Repair and maintenance of CNC machinery in the machine shop
  • Ensure that all major and reoccurring breakdowns are investigated fully to identify root cause and develop reoccurrence prevention plans
  • Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to order parts or for technical advice
  • Mentor/develop apprentices and trainees
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained and stored correctly
  • Effective maintenance response and prioritisation of tasks to minimise operational downtime
  • Optimisation of preventive maintenance procedures
  • Management of maintenance stores, ensure all critical spares for CNC machines are readily available
  • (Similar one above )Deputising for Maintenance Manager if/when required.

 

Who we’re looking for

 

To apply, we are looking for someone who has experience in a high volume manufacturing environment with a mechanical, electrical, electronic or software background as well as someone who has a good working knowledge of the other disciplines.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a positive approach to HS&E through good working practices, housekeeping and correct use of PPE.

 

This position will be on a full time, permanent basis - working hours will be 37 per week
