 Are you looking to kick-start a career in procurement and supply chain management? BEL Valves is seeking a motivated Purchasing Apprentice to join our Purchasing Team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills, gain exposure to global supply chains, and grow within a leading engineering organisation.

 

As a Purchasing Apprentice, you will be an important part of the procurement team supporting a wide range of activities and working alongside experienced staff members who will support you in gaining new skills and your qualification. You will work with many different business areas, which will help you to build a strong understanding of how the procurement process works within the business.

You will complete a 2 year apprenticeship specialising in sourcing, purchasing and managing the acquisition of goods and services for BEL Valves and will study with our Training Partner, completing a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence to achieve a Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply (CIPS) as well as receiving additional role specific training.

 

 

What you'll be doing

 

As part of your development, you will learn to:

  • Raise and amend BoC, Manufacturing and Raw Material RFQs within IFS.
  • Convert supplier quotations into accurate purchase orders.
  • Issue purchase orders following approvals.
  • Obtain updates from suppliers and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Support in resolving basic non conformance and quality related issues.
  • Assist supplier investigations and learn about corrective action processes.
  • Contribute to budget pricing and delivery information.
  • Build foundational knowledge of BEL Valves quality requirements.
  • Develop time management and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand cross functional workflows.
  • Work safely, following all British Engines Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

 

 

Who we're looking for

 

The ideal candidate will be IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and show a willingness to learn. They should be able to collaborate effectively across teams, communicate clearly, work accurately and thoroughly, adapt positively to change in a dynamic environment, and apply analytical thinking to assess situations logically and make informed decisions.

 

Applicants must have achieved 5 GCSEs (A*-C / 9-5), including Maths and English, and possess a genuine desire to learn and develop.
