What you'll be doing
- Carrying out a range of mechanical design, development, analysis and simulation tasks as part of ongoing R&D projects
- Using CAD and engineering software including SOLIDWORKS, Mathcad, ANSYS, OpenFOAM and ParaView.
- Using and developing in-house calculation tools
- Developing bespoke test rigs
- Working in a busy team environment and supporting subject matter experts
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a highly motivated, 3rd Year, MEng Engineering student.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a
solid understanding of key engineering principles, a keen
interest in optimising mechanical designs and strong capabilities
with relevant computer-aided engineering tools.
Candidates should be ready to present a portfolio of their own
individual work in CAD, FEA and CFD software, drawn from their
university coursework or other relevant experience.
During your placement you will work on-site at our South Shields facility as a full member of an established engineering team and will be supported in your professional development.
